ashnault-rutgers-wrestlingWe want to congratulate Apex Wrestling School Alumni, Anthony Ashnault and Richie Lewis for picking up a pair of victories at this years NWCA All-Star Classic. Both are ranked in the Top 8 in the country for Rutgers University. Anthony defeated 2016 NCAA’s 141lb 2nd place finisher Bryce Meredith of Wyoming in overtime by a score of 8-6. Richie beat nationally ranked Joe LaVallee of Mizzouri by a score of 2-0. ┬áBy FloWrestling’s current rankings, Ashnault is ranked 4th in the country and Richie is ranked 7th. They both should see bumps in their rankings soon.

In High School Anthony Ashnault was New Jersey’s first undefeated four time state champion. He was also a Super 32 Champion and ranked number 1 in the country. In college the redshirt Junior is a two time All-American, including last years 4th place finish.

In High School Richie was a 3x time state place finisher including a third place finish his senior year. He was member of our travel team for three years and played a key role in many of our tournament victories. He started his college journey at Iowa Central Community College where he was a two-time JUCO All-American, finishing 2nd and 3rd. Last year he qualified for the NCAA DI National Championships.
